The best clubs this fortnight

Harem The activities of the unutterably vile Brian Souter have provoked something of a cashflow problem for the HIV and AIDS outreach and education providers PHACE West and Networks, so get down to this fundraising party with a wad of cash and your dancing shoes. Entertainment includes sets from Craig Reece and DJ Class, plus some exclusive cocktails. Tron Theatre Foyer Bar, Fri 4 Aug.

Freelance Science This is the last bout of Science from Stuart and Orde (pictured) before Alaska shuts its doors for a while. That's the bad news. The good news is that all those rumours that have been flying about are true. We can now confirm that, when the venue re-opens in early Sep, the Slam crew will be taking control of all music programming at the club. This means that Relief is set to shift to the Friday night slot, with the rest of the week reserved for a host of Slam-related talent. Do we really need to point out that this is the most exciting thing to happen in Glasgow Clubland, like, ever? Alaska, Sat 5 Aug.

Test The second dripping chunk of packaged depravity, with Shandy, Steve Glencross, Leon Devlan and Bedlam boys Paul Brown and Phil Murray on the decks, plus live action from Marcin Czubala and Ibrahim Alfa. Check wwwglasvegascom for more info. Glasgow School OfArt, Fri 4 Aug.

Fuse It’s risen from the ashes of Trade like some kind of hard house Phoenix, ensuring that Saturdays stay the same for all you fans of extravagant clubbing. This month’s bash features familiar face Ziad, alongside DJ Robin, Ken Ferguson and Martin Robinson. The Arches, Sat 5 Aug.

Deathlehem Richie, Domenic and Alex are on a mission to provide a haven for hard-rockers and metal- heads. Frankly, they rock like gibbons on crystal meth, spinning across-the- board heavy sounds with everything from Sabbath to Slipknot. 73th Note Club, Week/y Weds.
