Neal Beggs Glasgow-based artist Neal Beggs has created an installation for the entrance corridor space at the venue, consisting of two large blocks of text on the corridor walls. One wall lists the 284 Scottish Munros (mountains over 3000ft) while opposite is a list of the 304 multi- storey tower blocks built in Glasgow between the 19505 and the 19705.

Paula Modersohn To Becker And The Worpswede Grou : Drawing And Prints (1895-1906 Until Sat 5 Aug. Organised by the Institute of Foreign Cultural Relations, Stuttgart and Berlin, an exhibition of drawings and prints by

the German Worspswede group. Renowned for landscapes which represented the late romantic period of their time, the group included Paula Modersohn-Becker whose work was influenced by Cezanne, Van Gogh and Gaughan.

Artism 2000 Until Sat 22 Jul. A major exhibition organised by the Scottish Society for Autistic Children in partnership with Autismo Burgos featuring over 134 artworks by autistic children and adults from all over Europe. Showing alongside the exhibition are new artworks created by children who attended a workshop at Glasgow’s Project Ability as well as work by Peter Howson.
Photo-Discovery@GOMA Until Fri 21 Jul. Resulting from workshops at Street Level Gallery, schoolchildren from Glasgow create a fingerprint wall mural for the gallery space. Also on show is a 6ft twenty-image sequence camera which allows members of the public to view the streetscape that the allery overlooks. New Media Exhibition Until Sun 22 Oct. Created in collaboration with Street Level’s Malcolm Dixon, this exhibition looks at the trend in new media, featuring video art, lightworks, digital art and web- based art. The show includes the work of Dan Reeves, Dalziell & Scullion and Stephen Hurrell.

1st International Sand Sculpture Festival Of The UK Mon l7—Sun 30 Jul. Artists from Canada, Denmark, England, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia and Scotland collaborate to create six temporary sand sculptures in the heart of George Square, in the first ever festival of its kind. Organised by Glasgow artists group, Grinneal, who recently created a giant sculpture at the Dick Institute, Kilmarnock, the artists will interpret the theme of gods and goddess. See feature.

An exhibition looking at the city’s famous ‘Miss Cranston’ tea rooms and the designs Mackintosh created for them. Ten Religious Masterpieces From The Royal Collection Until Sat 16 Sep. The only Scottish showing of drawings by Leonardo, Guercino, (‘astiglione, Durer and Michelangelo drawn from the Royal Library at Windsor Castle. Connoisseurs, Collectors And Copyists Until Sat 16 Sep. Towards the end of the 18th century, many of the finest collections of Old Master drawings in Europe belonged to British collectors and artists. The market for reproductions also increased and some of the leading printmakcrs of the day produced drawings, both etched and engraved, to satisfy the growing demand. .
