GLASGOW CLYDE CYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL

Entrance via Balshagray Crescent, Whiteinch or Govan Road, 576 7956. Daily 10am—10pm.

Tunnel Until Sun 18 Jun. Stephen Skrynka has whitewashed the walls of the Glasgow Clyde Pedestrian and Cycle Tunnel, eradicating over 30 years of graffiti. The words previously found in the tunnel, now come in the form of sounds which the artist has recorded to create a new sound installation. See review.

Home (is where the heart is . . .) Until Fri 30 Jun. Glasgow-based artist Kathleen Little documented the gradual decline of her parent’s health over a two- year period. The result is a series of moving large colour photographs.

CCA AT MCLELLAN GALLERIES

Neal Beggs Glasgow-based artist Neal Beggs has created an installation for the entrance corridor space at the venue, consisting of two large blocks of text on the corridor walls. One wall lists the 284 Scottish Munros (mountains over 3000ft) while opposite is a list of the 304 multi-storey tower blocks built in Glasgow between the 19503 and the 1970s

COLLINS GALLERY

Fishion: Chris Rowland Until Sat 10 Jun. Chris Rowland explores notions of memory and identity using the latest developments in digital technology in an installation created for the gallery space. Based around a shallow pool of black water, the piece has animated images projected onto the rippling surface.

Artism 2000 Until Sat 22 Jul. A major exhibition organised by the Scottish Society for Autistic Children in partnership with Autismo Burgos featuring over 134 artworks by autistic children and adults from all over Europe. Showing alongside the exhibition are new artworks created by children who attended a workshop at Glasgow’s Project Ability as well as work by Peter Howson.

On loan from the Filmmuseum Berlin/Marlene Dietrich Collection, a stunning selection of 39 photographs of the legendary film star, Marlene Dietrich. Ranging from her childhood to her famous images on film and stage, the exhibition features the work of photographers Horst P. Horst, Cecil Beaton and George Hurrcll.

Glasgow Tea Rooms: Mackintosh And Miss Cranston Until Tue 19 Sep. An exhibition looking at the city’s famous ‘Miss Cranston’ tea rooms and the designs Mackintosh created for them.

Ten Religious Masterpieces From The Royal Collection Fri 16 Jun—Sat 16 Sep. The only Scottish showing of drawings by Leonardo, Guercino, Castiglione, Durer and Michelangelo drawn from the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.

Connoisseurs, Collectors And Copyists Fri 16 Jun—Sat 16 Sep. Towards the end of the l8th century, many of the finest collections of Old Master drawings in Europe belonged to British collectors and artists. The market for reproductions also increased and some of the leading printmakers of the day produced drawings, both etched and engraved, to satisfy the growing demand.
