Sawyer are Human Condition Records answer to the Jesus Lizard, while Sputniks Down are a gaggle of young men who create fantastic spaced-out Mogwai at the school disco soundscapes. The Magnificents are a bunch of warped minds who create clanking, electro-surf madness. Think the Beach Boys and Afrika Bambaataa in hell, on acid, playing with Dr Shipman. I The Sound Of Simon And Garfunkel King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, St Vincent Street, 221 5279. 8.30pm. £6.50 plus booking fee. Apparently the only tribute to the melodic genius of Paul and Art. Gary Heatherington takes on the role of the wee bloke who wrote the songs and John Thirlwall is the one with the big hooter and the girly voice. Rest assured, the set will encompass ‘Brighteyes’, surely the greatest song ever written to accompany a film about rabbits.
