Russian Connections Tue 9 May—Fri 9 Jun. An exhibition of puppets, notebooks and illustrated writing by children from St John’s Primary School in Glasgow, inspired by Alexander Puskin’s fairytale ‘The Golden Cockerel’ and the music of Myllarit, a folk group from Karelia.

If I Ruled The World Until Sat 20 May. Bryndis Snaebjornsdottir and Ross Sinclair curate and feature in a group show of work by eight Glasgow-based artists. Along with Claire Barclay, Martin
Boyce, Roderick Buchanan, Simon Starling, Rose Thomas and Clara Ursitti, the artists travelled to Iceland to create CCA commissioned work for The Living Art Museum in Reykjavik. In this show, the artists produce site-specific works for the gallery space, resulting from their experience of working together in Iceland.
Neal Beggs Glasgow-based artist Neal Beggs creates a new installation for the entrance corridor space at the venue, consisting of two large blocks of text on the corridor walls. One wall lists the 284 Scottish Munros (mountains over 3000ft) while opposite is a list of the 304 multi- storey tower blocks built in Glasgow between the 505 and the 70s.

Donald Bain: A Scottish Colourist Until Sat 6 May. The first comprehensive survey of the work of Donald Bain (1904-1979), the Glasgow artist who was prominent in continuing the tradition of the Scottish colourists.

Gateways And Landmarks Mon l—Sat 27 May. Gateways and Landmarks is ongoing public art project taking place in Castlemilk, co-ordinated by the Castlemilk Environmental Trust. The commissioned artists — Rick Kirby, Doug Cocker, Paul Grime, Michael Dan Archer and Kenny Hunter — worked with community groups to produce pieces that will be incorporated into the PublicArt works.

Primed Minimalism at its most minimal. Paul Keir’s paintings don’t deal in visual frippery and he is one of Scotland's finest artists showing along Andrew Mackenzie, James Lumsden and Raymond Mulligan. See review. Edinburgh: Bel/evue Gallery until Sat 13 May.

The Blue Chamber Six contemporary artists take on the regal surrounds of Duff House, an outstation of the National Galleries of Scotland. Ross Sinclair gets real wearing only a pair of shorts. Artists At Harleys Until Sat 3 Jun. In the late 19503, commercial printers in Edinburgh, Harley Brothers, encouraged young artists to produce and edition colour lithographs. In this exhibition, the work of Michael Ayrton, Elizabeth Blackadder, Robin Philipson and John Piper goes on display.
