Back To School
Festival of Learning, that's a new one. . . Well, the event originally occurred last
year and was so successful it’s happening again. What's it all about? The Festival of Learning is essentially a showcase for the wide range of adult education classes happening at Drummond Community High
School and Leith Academy.
Is it all very academic? Not at all, there are classes in everything from toy- making, cookery and languages to line-dancing.
What can I expect on the day? There’ll be taster classes for things like jewellery- making along with demonstrations such as salsa and flamenco dancing, and a high speed Ready, Steady Cook display (Ainslie not included).

Long Live The King
You don't mean Elvis has been found alive and well and living in Galashiels?
Sadly, no. But this is the next best thing.
Tell me more. . . Via the wonder of technology, Elvis will make an appearance in Glasgow courtesy of archive footage projected onto huge video screens.
So it's just a film show? Certainly not. The stage will be packed with a sixteen- piece orchestra, backing singers and members of Mr Presley’s original band.
So I won’t be lonesome tonight? Definately not. Expect a few tears to be shed, as Elvis fans of all ages get to glimpse the supreme rhinestone jumpsuit and most royal voice in rock ’n' roll, convincing you that you were always on his mind.
