Both are looking for love via the personals and as their date unfolds, the cracks in their armour become increasingly obvious. Therapists and well-meaning friends come to the rescue in Christopher Durang’s lively comedy.

Louis de Berniere’s novel has earned a place on many people’s bookshelves over the past few years, and whilst we wait with bated breath for the film adaptation, here’s a stage version to be going on with. Presented by Mike Maran — who is joined by three co-stars (including a pianist and
mandolin player), three puppets, a motorbike, a goat and a whole host of other paraphernalia — the play is selling itself as an ‘Operetta’ and thus far audiences and critics alike have greeted it with gushing praise.

One ofAustralia’s most groundbreaking performance companies get this year’s New Moves festival Off to an innovative start with their intense new piece, A TriaIBy Video. Using video screens, interactive sound, cameras and lighting to powerful effect, the work is performed in promenade style, with the audience walking through the action as it unfolds. The Edinburgh~ based contemporary company celebrate their tenth anniversary with a new work, the result of a collaboration between choreographer and founder Alan Greig and renowned dancer David Hughes.
