Scottish Ballet’s new artistic director Robert North has created a new ballet inspired by the music of 19th century composer Jacques Offenbach. Set to the composer’s music, the ballet envisages Offenbach returning to Paris in the 20th century, where he meets such ‘modemists’ as Stravinsky. The piece is paired to a curtain raiser entitled Miniatures, which is set to music by Stravinsky.
