TEMPORARY CREATIVE DANCE & MOVEMENT EDUCATION LEADER

(Part-Time for 12 months or Full-Time for 6 months) Post No E/17 £15,240 pa. (pro rata)

This post isjoint-funded by the Highland Council Cultural and Leisure Service, Education Service and The Scottish Arts Council.

The postholder will work throughout Lochaber in the West Highlands with Fort William as the main base. The applicant will provide a programme of creative Dance and Movement for pre-school groups and early Primary pupils, and provide training and support to group leaders and teachers. Applications are sought from experienced, qualified Dance Artists who are able to work on their own initiative to plan and deliver a Dance programme, both in and out of School hours, which will stimulate young people and enthuse others. The successful applicant has the opportunity of either working part-time for a year or full-time for six months, depending on preference, and can begin the contract either at the beginning oprril or in August 2000.

Access Officer

An opportunity exists for an Access Officer who will develop and implement a co-ordinated strategy for walkers, cyclists and horse riders throughout the City of Edinburgh. You will review the existing path network for the above group and in doing so, you will consult with communities over desired access to paths, the formation of priorities and the access strategy. You will also provide clear and concise reports for management on path development including annual progress reports. This post will involve regular contact with other Council departments through the development of strategies. It will also involve contact with members of the public, community groups, funding bodies, and landownersThe successful candidate will hold a degree qualification in a relevant subject. It is essential that they are able to exercise a high degree of initiative and autonomy and are able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. An understanding of sustainable transport issues, countryside management or planning procedures is essential. Familiarity with computer applications including 618 systems would be useful.
