Moby and Hardknox A double bill of electronic delights headlined by the mild mannered janitor of dance music. Still touring in support of his album Play, Moby contradicts his off-stage persona by throwing himself about like a loon on stage. Edinburgh: The Liquid Room, Thu 3 Feb.
Man 0r Astro-man? They think they’re from outer space but they’re actually from the US (which is near enough) and have names like Coco The Electronic Monkey Wizard. lf instrumental sci-ii surf punk tunes are your bag, then these space cadets are your gods. Glasgow: g2, Tue 25 Jan; Edinburgh: The Liquid Room, Wed 26 Jan.
CLASSICAL
Hebrides Ensemble The World premiere of The Millennium Songbook — five new pieces from five Scottish composers, including Sally Beamish, Craig Armstrong and Lyell Cresswell — is the highlight of this eclectic affair. Glasgow: Royal Concert Hall, Wed 2 Feb; Edinburgh, Queen’s Hall, Thu 3 Feb.

Celtic Connections Continuing to raise the profile of Celtic music, not just in Scotland, but internationally, the bill for the second week is no less wide- ranging or interesting.
