EDINBURGH FRIDAYS: CLUBS continued
I Sin at Eden. llpm—3am. £9 on the door (£6 in advance). 17 Dec. Monthly. A brand new night for the outrageous and fetish crowds in Scotland. The opening night will see a display of Murray and Vern’s latex fashions, a performance by Nawashi Muragawa with the ancient Japanese art of rope bondage, Arcane and their cutting edge sado-erotic performance, CY-beria and Phreak dancers, domination from Electra and many extra surprises. Music is from Pussy Power, playing deep house, trance and techno upstairs while Severin handles more chilled out rhythms downstairs. Make an effort with your outfits, think outrageous clubwear, naughty maids, lingerie, cross-dress, see- through, rubber, leather, PVC. If you don’t have anything, they say to show up naked and they’ll provide you with some vinyl tape. And you say there’s nothing different in the capital.
I Sublime at The Potterrow. 10pm—3am. £8 (£6). 10 Dec. Monthly. A stormer of a night at the ’Row when Mr Billy Nasty and Holy Ghost descend into the venue. Billy Nasty has a ridiculous number of Scottish dates this month, so we’ll be able to get our fix of his awesome, driving techno sets. Holy Ghost will be playing live on the outstanding sound system. One of the promoters could only describe them as ‘fucking amazing’, so we’ll take that to mean that this is one not to miss.
I Sublime at Wilkie House. 10.30pm-3am. £8 (£6). 3 Dec. Fortnightly. Following the absolute mayhem the ensued during Taylor’s fantastic set last fortnight, resident Kev Wright will keep his minions jumping around like the loons they are when he plays one of his three hour sets. He has been in fine form of late and you won’t want to miss this one. He’ll be supported by ldge in the main room, while Gary Mac and Felix do their brilliant nu skool and electro beats. Looking ahead to 17 Dec, Nick Warren makes a return to one of his favourite clubs to play an epic three-hour set. Plan to get to the club as it opens if you want to get in for that one, it’ll be a sellout and make no mistake. Brilliant stuff. (http://www.sublime- uk.demon.co.uk/)
I Trancelucent at The Venue. 10.30pm—3am. £4 with flyer before midnight; £5 after. 3 Dec. Monthly. A new night of Euro trance with Pete Anderson and Big Ben in the main room and Dave S doing the smooth house grooves thing in the basement. Look out for their one-off Christmas spesh on 24 Dec.

Oflering something a little fresh in the capital with a tech house night (they’ll be taking in extra sub-bass), DJ Yela will be joined by a number of guests each month. 3 Piece Sweet
Sister’s gonna work it out . . . or so say Nicci F, Trendy Wendy and Sally Findlay, otherwise known as 3 Piece Sweet. A, er, three piece girl DI group.
'We didn't want to call ourselves anything like "Girls On Decks", because that's what other ex-topless model girly 015 do, and we’re not anything like that.’ explains Nicci F. The trio are not really like anything that you will have come across in your travels through clubland. Rather than being a structured, defined group, they're more like a party popper exploding in whatever venue they're playing. From disco to house, kitsch to 805. the girls simply play fun music, and have a brilliant time while doing it. Each of the girls are well-known Dls in their own right: Trendy Wendy's Tackno nights are legendary in Edinburgh; she and Sally also look after the back room at Joy; and you'll find Nicci F at Po Na Na every Friday.
'It’s ridiculous and such a Iaugh,‘ agrees Trendy Wendy. 'lt’s not like working at all, which is the thing that’s really good about it.’
'I love it, it's not serious Dling,’ admits Sally Findlay. 'We don’t really play the clubs where you have to keep the floor rammed, we just play what we enjoy. And because there’s three of us, we can bounce off each other. It's the most enjoyable bit of Dling when you play with two friends and you just
play what you want to play.’
‘It is honestly like an after-hours party,’ emphasises Nicci F. 'No one starts stripping in the dancefloor, or at least they haven't yet, so there are no media funnies to tell you. It just feels as though we are chucking on a few tunes round someone's house with our pals there.’ (Simone Baird)
I 3 Piece Sweet play Block-Party at Noa on Thu 2 Dec; the Basement Bar party at Eden on Mon 6 Dec; and at Tackno vs The Cuban Brothers on Sun 26 Dec.

I Colours at The Potterrow. 10pm—3am. £10 (£8). 4 Dec. Monthly. Oh dear, voted by just about every rag in the country as the biggest caners around, Alex P and Brandon Block hit Potterrow tonight for some banging house action. This house and speed garage night has Dls Nejat Barton (Manchester) and Graeme Popstar (who has the coolest DJ name around, we think). Please note that there is a tight dress code: ‘no effort, no chance’. Look beautiful and outrageous, people.
