Giles Havergal directs Thomas Mann’s story of an aging composer who arrives for a recuperative holiday in Venice, only to find both love and pestilence as companions in a life that is revealed to be decadent in the extreme.
Blood On The Thistle Until Sat 18 Dec, (not Sun/Mon). 7.30pm. £10 (£3). All tickets £3 on Tuesdays. Douglas Skelton’s dark play, adapted, directed and designed by Kenny Miller, brings the
dark side of Scotland to the stage, with accounts of the deeds of three real-life Scottish murderers.
Cavalcade Until Sat 18 Dec (not Sun/Mon). 7.30pm. £10 (£3). All tickets £3 on Tuesdays. Directed and designed by Philip Prowse, Noel Coward ’s epic play follows the ups and downs of the Maryott family through 30 emotionally charged years. A story about the passing of time, and the different people we become through different ages.

The world premiere of this all new rock ’n’ roll musical tells of something evil from outer space, which finds a home in the top secret military installation known as Area 51. As the body count mounts the mystery deepens. Created by Glasgow University students, the production uses pyrotechnics, video projection and live DJing.

Blood On The Thistle Kenny Miller’s adaptation of Douglas Skelton’s chilling book might make you feel unsafe in your bed for weeks, but don’t let that discourage you. This compelling piece of theatre gets close up to its audience in the studio space and makes them feel every grisly moment. Glasgow: Citizen ’5 Theatre, until Sat 18 Dec.
Peter Pan Stuart Paterson's version of J.M. Barrie's great Scottish play is not, he insists, just for the kids, and we're inclined to agree. There's magic, mystery and adventure in this tale, but also plenty of food for thought. Edinburgh: Royal Lyceum Theatre, Fri 3 Dec-Sat 8 Jan.
