Martin Boyce/Ross Sinclair Until Sat 13 Nov. The first part of Visions For The Future which aims to commission new work from six of Scotland’s most dynamic artists. Glasgow School of Art graduate Martin Boyce has created a large-scale, strip-lighting installation for the ground floor of the gallery space. Ross Sinclair, who last year was awarded a Paul Hamlyn Foundation visual arts award, remembers the island of St Kilda and considers notions of utopia.

An exhibition looking at the history of ‘Ia bande dessinee’, which is an inheritance of the ‘serials’ of the 19th century, that appeared weekly in major newspapers. Balzac, Dumas and Zola are among the authors who popularised this technique. Balzac. Un Monde A Part: La Comedie Humaine Until Thu 23 Dec. To celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Honore de Balzac, this documentary exhibition looks at his monumental work La Comedic Humaine.

Robin Philipson 1916-1992
Until Sun 14 Nov. £2.50 (£1.50). The late Robin Philipson was a leading figure of the Edinburgh School. This retrospective exhibition features over 60 works carried out throughout his career, from his expressive paintings of cockfights to World War I and the Crucifixion.

An impressive collection of works from the Renaissance to Post-Impressionism, by artists including Raphael, Rembrandt, Titian, Poussin, Degas, Van Gogh and Monet along with work by 18th and 19th century Scottish artists. Art An Business Until Sun 23 Jan. The business and commerce industries have created the wealth of Scotland, shaping the country’s towns and cities. This exhibition features contemporary portraits including images of current wealth creators.
Magna Brava: The Magnum Women Photographers Fri 5 Nov—Sun 30 Jan. £2.50 (£1.50). The great women Magnum photographers - Eve Arnold, Martine Franck, Susan Mciselas, Inge Morath and the late Marilyn Silverstone — show distinctive work from around the globe. Over 180 photographs are on display ranging in subject matter from Arnold’s view of the whole continent to Silverstone’s study of study of social groups in the Gaelic speaking of Tory Island in Ireland. This exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Marilyn Silverstone who died in September this year. See preview.
