I GBX at The Temple. 11pm-3.30am. £6 (£4). Weekly. Radio Clyde’s George Bowie and international DJ producer Trevor Reilly (Manifesto) playing hard house through to the trancier and funkier house anthems.

I Global at Universe (Coatbridge). 11pm-2.45am. £5. Weekly. Kevin McFarlane and Stephen Lee, both from the Tunnel with a night of garage, disco, vocal house and the biggest party tunes. I Gold 'n' Delicious at Archaos. llpm-3am. £6 (£4). Weekly. David Gilmore and Ryan Kerr playing quality house and garage amid the spectacle of the Friday night acts. Bungee jumping acrobats, stilt walkers and much madness. Jamie Strang also plays soul and R&B in bar one. Up in the Sky Bar Mathew Morton plays R&B, funk and garage.

I Goodfoot at The Bedsit. 10pm—2am. £5. 5 Nov and 19 Nov (first and third Fri of the month). Scotland’s number one northern soul night back again after an enforced absence. The best of its type in the city and it’s back.

I Love Bug at The Garage. 10.30pm—3am. £4 (£3). Weekly. Good- time party tunes with a young, boppy, drinky and snoggy crowd. Wildly busy so it’s well advised to haul yo ass down there early.

I Ouch at The Glasgow School Of Art (both floors). 10pm—3am. £6 (£4). 14 Nov and monthly (if you don’t count Dec). Spanking new night with a great concept, great DJs and great flyers. Right, what you’ve got here is fusion of the live and DJ scenes on a large scale that ’brings together the creative genius lurking around the shadows of Scotland’. For the first night they’ve got the Jengaheads playing drum & bass, electro, nu school breaks and house, Kevin Dillon with his own special stew of melodic treats, the superfine drum & bass of Manga’s G Mac. Then live you’ve got Liza (think Mary J Blige meets Lauren Hill) with laconic rapper about town Nordin backed by live percussion, guitar and strings and to top it all there’s Cain (ex Mish Mash band) with percussion, scratching, samples, opera and ragga. I Paul Cawley at Air Organic. 9pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. Pre-club. Psy-phi’s Paul Cawley, label boss of Fenetik Records, here every week for a Beta testing hip hop, drum & bass and break beat set.

I Pink Cadillac at Betty’s. 11pm—3am. £5 (£3). Break from the usual house scene with DJ shaft playing ’pure 70s disco for clubbers’.

I Polo Lounge at The Polo Lounge. 11pm—3am. £5. Weekly. DJ Michelle in main club with 905 club and indie and the Trophy Room with Tom for a more commercial mix. Gay. The P010 Lounge operates as a bar before all club nights with free entry before the club starts.

I Planet Peach at Planet Peach. 11pm-3.15am. £4 (£3). Weekly. Paul N’Jie playing fresh and upfront house funked up with a helping of R&B and soul classics.

Night run by the crew behind the legendary Slam night, which Relief replaced, offering the finest electro disco funk tech house from Laurence Hughes and Silicone Soul (Some). 12 Nov guests Ralph Lawson (Back To Basics), local techno funsters Bios and Jay Denham who runs Black Nation, the Detroit label they record for.

I Shag at Fury Murry’s. 11pm—3.15am. £5 (£3). Weekly. Mark and James G playing to a good time party crowd in the guaranteed-a-winch F ury’s.

I Soaterama at Nice ’n’ Sleazy (ground floor bar). 8pm-midnight. Free. Weekly. Regular Friday evening do, with the best in all sorts of fields from Americana punk to dub, drum & bass and original indie.

I Stateside Sounds at The State Bar (Holland Street). 4—7pm. Free. Weekly. DJ Paul Shields playing alternative country, rock and blues along the lines of Led Zeppelin, Crosby Stills & Nash, Wilco etc.

I Strawberry Fields at Strawberry Fields. 9pm—3am. £6 (£7 after 11pm). Weekly. Classic party sounds from the 605 through to the 80s. Sinatra to Bryan Adams, Beatles to Abba, Madness to the Bay City Rollers.

I Tangent at The Sub Club. 11pm-3am. £7 (£5). 12 Nov. A-man and Panic with the lushest, grooviest deep and funky beats and melodic techno. After the recent set of fine guests we’re back to the residents, but we don’t care, because they’re dead good too.

I Test at The Sub Club. 11pm—3am. £7 (£5). 5 Nov and monthly. Exclusive and rare live performance by both members of Subhead, one from London and the other from Japan who release material on the 2cb and Subhead labels. This is their first live appearance at Test after two previous DJing appearances. Test also has a new resident in the shape of the fine Steve Glencross who records for Sativae and Drought records. Expect hard and dirty techno and electronica.

I Trash at Trash. 11pm—3am. £5 (£3). Weekly. 'IVvo rooms of party action with a mix of vocal house, funky classics and current R&B favourites from Grahame Ferguson and Stevie Smith.

I Turbulance at The Glasgow School Of Art. 10pm-3am. £4.50 (£3.50). 5 Nov and fortnightly. The city’s only regular drum & bass night back again in full force with the residents Tania Swift and Stevie, joined occasionally by the Konfiict production duo (Renegade Hardware) in a DJing capacity. 5 Nov they welcome Fabio back for a second time for some extra firing drum & bass. (£8/£7).

I Yang at Yang. 11pm—3am (bar open from 6pm). £5 (free before midnight). Weekly. Premier hip hop and scratch mixing from residents Dema & Nice (Freek Menoovers) and Bunty in room two plus the guys from Kushi Records with double deep house in the back room. I Yum Yum at The 13th Note Club (downstairs). 9pm-3am. £4 (includes access to Big Daddy upstairs too). Weekly. New night of jazz, Latin, hip hop and soul.

African, Latin and Caribe vibes from DJs-

Jaffar (Senegal) and Zuppa lnglese (Bogota) every month from here on in. I Archaos at Archaos. llpm—4am. £8. Weekly. Kris Keegan and AJ. mix up garage and house in the massive dome room dance floor, which has one of the beefiest sound systems and most- impressive light shows in Scotland, plus full aerial display. lain Thompson playing chunky disco in Betty’s while Paul Traynor plays R&B, swing and hip hop in the members’ Sky Bar.

I Ascendance at The Temple. llpm—3am. £7 (£5). 13 Nov. Steve Lee (Gallery, London), Johnny Rocket, Billy Macatee playing hard and tribal house and a bit of trance too.

I Atomic at The Temple. 11pm—3am. £7 (£5). 6 Nov and fortnightly. With the sad demise of The Honeycomb in Edinburgh many corking nights were left without a home, including Atomic Baby, which we now see appearing over here, losing the ’baby’, baby. Residents are the same though with the supertight hard house duo of Michael Kilkie and Zammo firing out the tunes.

I Bennet's 11.30pm-3am. £6 (£5). Weekly. DJ Sara with a good dancey mix downstairs that’s a bit heavier than her Wednesdays, plus DJ Grant Duff on the upper floor playing more handbaggy house. Gay.

I Bonkers at Bonkers. llpm—3am. £5 after midnight; £4 before. Weekly. Club classics at this after-office hang-out with residents David Campbell and Nobble Whitelaw.

dancin on the tables.

I Business As Usual at The Apartment. 11pm—3am. £8. Weekly. Funky house and disco at this tiny yet gorgeous club.

I The Cathouse 10.30pm—3am. £4 (£3.50) £2.50 before 11.30pm. Weekly. Three floors of rock, grunge, contemporary indie and indie dance, in one of the best rock venues in the country.

I Classic PM at Fury Murry’s. llpm—3am. £6 (£4). Weekly. Club classics and pany tunes in the main room with DJs Jim Downie and Sean Webster plus a more indie slant upstairs.

I Club 69 at Rocksy’s Basement. 10pm—2.30am (midnight curfew). £5 (members only - call 400 6967 for details). Weekly. Martin, Wilba and Barrie of dance record shop Rub-A- Dub playing the best and deepest from the underground. Even though it’s in the function room of an Indian restaurant, it consistently finds its way into the best clubs in the country polls. 13 Nov they welcome down The Method aka Jason Brunton (Sirkus records). He’s been recording music for Channel 4’s Later and has just remixed a Club 69 classic ’Arron Carl/Crucified’.

I Club Cubana at The Bedsit. £4 (£3). 10.30pm-2am. 6 Nov. Free dance classes from 10.30pm by the award winning Academia de Salsa followed by three hours of tropical beats from DJ Duncanario. Dress accordingly as temperatures soar. Look out for their tenth birthday coming up soon.

I Colours at The Arches. 10pm—4am. £20. 13 Nov and monthly. Colours officially launch their ’Masters Of The Millennium’ party here with one of the most eagerly anticipated DJ dates of the year, with ’Little’ Louis Vega and Kenny ’Dope’ Gonzales aka the legendary Masters At Work. This is the first time in five years since they’ve been in Scotland, and that was a Colours night too. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s Boy George, Andre Tanneberger (ATB), Dave Pearce and Stateside new name DJ Dan. If you think that’s a line-up wait ‘til you see what they’ve got planned for New Year. See Hitlist.

I Divine at Glasgow School Of Art (downstairs). 10pm-late. £3.50 (£2.50 GSA students). Weekly. Andrew Divine and Hush Puppy with real deal Northern soul, Hammond grooves, bubblegum pop, wah-wah funk, Moog power and chemical breakbeats now celebrating their ninth birthday this week.

I Firehorse Foundations at Bacchus Basement (80 Glassford St). 9pm-lam. £3 (tickets must be bought in advance from Virgin Argyle St, Fopp Byers Rd and Bacchus Bar). 13 Nov and monthly. Monthly event showcasing talent from the Firehorse stable, this month with a Celtic fusion with lzzy MacLaughlan and Kevin Dillon DJing plus full live show from Celtic Wah Wah.

I Freelance Science at Alaska. 10.30pm-3am. £10. 6 Nov and monthly. Slam’s Stuart and Orde continue their series of experimental nights, bringing along a stack load of electronic gubbins to road test material they’re working on for the new album. Last week it was abso-bloody-lutely mobbed with as many people getting in as were locked out, so get down early.

I Free Form at‘l’he 13th Note Club (both floors). 9pm—3am. £3 (free before 10.30pm). Weekly. Steven and Paul Watt bring on two floors of more Latiny grooves.

I The Garage at The Garage. 10pm—3am. £6 (£4); £1 off before 11pm. Weekly. Big, brash and unashamedly happy to put the good time party groove into your Saturday night with a wide spread of commercial anthems in the main room and indie inspiration upstairs. I Graduate Club at g2. 11pm-3am. £4 (£3). Weekly. Night aimed at the kind of people who used to enjoy a night out at The Cotton Club in ’89 or Fury’s 93, figure they’re a tad too old for the Garage, but don’t fancy staying in with the Horlicks and slippers. DJ Steve Davis mixing up all the classics.

I Groovejet at Trash. 11pm—3am. (£7) £5. Weekly. Dressy, slightly older (as in not just out of nappies) crowd with house and garage in the main room from DJ brother team Mathew and Peter, and soul, swing and R&B in the second room from Paul N ’1 ie.

A night of the pure and true underground funk technology from Jilkes and Hatch, their musical creativity has been ripping the roof off the art school for four years now.
