Home For The Future Expo Until Sun 24 Oct. A tour of the Homes For The Future site. a £10 million housing development comprising 100 homes all designed by leading architects from around the world. Both public and private housing has been constructed. created with the aim of combining innovative architecture with issues of urban renewal. Home L'ntil Sun 24 Oct. To complement the Homes For The Future. this exhibition looks at the project in the context of house building in the 20th century and addresses various aspects of home design for the future. Vanity Cases By Philippe Starck L'ntil Sun 31 Oct. A retrospective of the work of style guru Philippe Starck. a prodigious designer in the 80s who shows no sign of slowing down. The exhibition features examples of his designs in miniaturised form. displayed in specially made vanity cases.
First Batch: The Glasgow Collection Sat 9 Oct—Sun 9 Jan. Set up as part of the Glasgow 1999 celebrations. The Glasgow Collection has funded a range of new design products. taking them to prototype stage and beyond. Over 40 projects by emerging and established designers from Glasgow and beyond feature in the display. Included is ‘Chasm Chair' designed by Glasgow-based designers One Foot Taller. a digital hand-drum by GSA graduate Ben Smith and plastic seating for children by Craig Whittet. See feature.
The Shape Of Colour: RED Fri 15 Oct—Sun 16 Jan. The cultural and psychological meanings of the colour red are explored in this collection of objects which includes everything from a Swiss Army knife to a telephone box. See feature.

International Cafe Challenge Fri 22—Tue 26 Oct. A workshop for international young designers with the brief to design an imaginary cafe in four days.
