This retrospective exhibition features over 60 works carried out throughout his career, from his expressive paintings of cockft ts to the First World War and the cruci txion.

An impressive collection of works from the Renaissance to Post-Impressionism, by artists including Raphael, Rembrandt, Titian, Poussin, Degas, Van Gogh and Monet along with work by 18th and 19th century Scottish artists. Recently returned to display is Titian ’s Diana And Callisto. The Ti er And The Thistle: Ti u Sultan And e Scots In India c1? 1800 Until Sun 3 Oct. £3 (£1.50). An exhibition marking the 200th anniversary of the Storming of Seringapatam by the British on 4 May 1799, and the death of Ttpu Sultan, ruler of the kingdom of Mysore in South India. Central to the show is Sir David Wilkie’s Sir David Baird Discovering The Body Of Tipu Sultan, plus portraits, topographical rints, watercolours and Sir David gaud' ’s presentation sword.

Churchill: The Evidence Until Sun 31 Oct. On show in Scotland for the first time, this exhibition about Sir Winston Churchill brings to life the man behind the myth through childhood letters, notes for some of the most famous speeches ever made, correspondence with kings, presidents, soldiers and celebrities plus photographs and possessions.

Agnes artin And John McLaughlin Until Sun 31 Oct. A two-person show featuring the work of abstract artists Agnes Martin and John McLaughlin. Canadian-born Martin came to prominence in New York in the late 1950s. Famous for her geometric, abstract works and rectilinear patterns, Martin continues to be an influential figure. Still painting at the age of 87 (she showed work at the gallery in 1974) exhibited are fourteen works on canvas completed in the last four years. Showing alongside Martin are paintings and prints by John McLaughlin (1898—1976). He is seen as America’s first great abstract painter although he is not widely known to the public at large, due to his self- imposed detachment from the New York art scene.
