I The Garage at The Garage. 10pm-3am. £6 (£4); £1 off before 11pm. Weekly. Big, brash and unashamedly happy to put the good time party groove into your Saturday night with a wide spread of commercial anthems in the main room and indie inspiration upstairs. I Graduate Club at g2. 11pm—3am. £4 (£3). Weekly. New night aimed at the kind of people who used to enjoy a night out at The Cotton Club in ‘89 or Fury’s 93, figure they’re a tad too old for the Garage, but don’t fancy staying in with the Horlicks and slippers. DJ Steve Davis mixing up all the classics.
I Groovejet at Trash. llpm—3am. (£7) £5. Weekly. Dressy, slightly older (as in not just out of nappies) crowd with house and garage in the main room from DJ brother team Mathew and Peter, and soul, swing and R&B in the second room from Paul N’Jie. 2 Oct Femi Fem from the Young Disciples ruests.
I Home Cookin at Babaza. 6pm—3am (DJs from 11pm). £5 (free before 11pm). Weekly. Pumping mix from Jamie Strang; funk, rare groove and hip hop and generally music of black origin.
I Inside Out at The Arches. 10.30pm-4am. £16.50. 25 Sep and monthly. More high end dance magazine cover stars at this glammy hard house night out. Judge Jules heads the team, joined by Gatecrasher’s Scott Bond, all your usual residents (Michael Kilkie, Zammo, Simon Foy) and a live set from Cosmos.
I Kenny H at Russell’s Cafe Bar. 9pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. Pre-club. Soul and funky house from Kenny H.
I Knucklehead Presents My Machines at Glasgow School OfArt (upstairs). lOpm-late. £4 (£3.50); £2.50 GSA students. Weekly. A night of the pure and true underground funk technology from Jilkes and Hatch, whose musical creativity has been ripping the roof off the art school for four years now.
I Living Room at The Living Room. 8pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. Pre-club. New York Alliance’s Colin Walker playing a deep house set.
I Love Boutique at Alaska. Note that although Love Boutique is usually on the first Saturday of each month, it has now moved to the second.
I Polo Lounge at The P010 Lounge. 10.30pm—3am. £5. Weekly. The bar upstairs is open until 3am, while downstairs DJ Ina plays a camp mix of housey faves and anthems and the Trophy Room with Andy for 805 pop, punk and new wave. Gay. The P010 Lounge operates as a bar before all club nights with free entry before club starts. I Planet Peach at Planet Peach. 11pm—3.15am. £5 (£4). Weekly. Alan Ronald mixing the best house/club and disco anthems.
I Pussypower at Scaramouche (Elderslie Street). 9pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. One of Glasgow’s more influential underground techno outfits back again for this weekly pre-club warmer.
I Reds at Reds. llpm—3am. £7 (£5). Weekly. DJ Skud plays soulful garage and disco house.
I The Shed at The Shed. 10pm—3am. £5 (£4). Weekly. Graeme Ferguson in the main with commercial dance favourites at this Southside club from the team behind the Garage.
I Salsa Sabrosa at McChuils Way Out West. 8.30pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. DJs Keith and Alexis with Salsa, from classic Colombian to modern Cuban, merengue, samba and just generally jazzy earth stuff.
I Si icone Soul at The Spy Bar. 8pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. Pre-club. The Silicone Soul guys, they of deep disco funk house production on Soma every week, joined every other week or so by Laurence Hughes who DJs with them every Friday at Relief (Arches).
I Silk at Havana. 10pm-3am. £7 (£5). Weekly. New night of lush house and garage at this bar/club brought to you by the Sly guys of Neil McKay and Frog.
I Strawberry Fields at Strawberry Fields. 9pm-3am. £6 (£7 after 11pm). Weekly. Classic party sounds from the 60s through to the 805. Sinatra to Bryan Adams, Beatles to Abba, Madness to the Bay City Rollers.
I Straight Ahead at Alaska. 11pm-3am. £3 (£6). 18 Sep and monthly. Hip hop, funk and jazzy drum & bass from Nick Peacock, Paul Cawley, Alex Horton and Shu Hirata.
I Sub Culture at The Sub Club. 10.30pm—5am. £10. Weekly. Without a doubt, Saturday at the Sub Club is still the best place in the country to hear such sublime deep underground house. Hosts Harri and Domenic know how to work the loyal crowd masterfully making the club one of Glasgow’s greatest assets. 25 Sep Diesel guests. He’s been booked because according to the Sub ‘he’s a cracking DJ and we haven’t had him here for a while’. The guy has been working with Pete Heller and continues his partnership with Rocky.
I Syntax at The Queen Margaret Student Union. Next event 16 Oct.
I Trade at The Arches. llpm—4am. £13. 2 Oct and monthly. Mary Kiani’s night continues to pump like the throbbing love muscle it is. Main room as ever sees the hard house Trade residents up from London in the form of Ziad and Alan Thomson plus Ken Ferguson and Guy Williams playing a more vocal house set in the Trade Lite Lounge. The freeform catwalk has proved such a success with all you show-offs that it’s now to become a permanent fixture of the night.
I Triumph at The Tunnel. 10.30pm-3.30am. £8 (£6). Weekly. A massive, dressy night of European and UK house at one of the country’s best looking venues. Colin Tevendale and Steven McCreery take on the main room with progressive house and trance while Kevin McFarlane and Stephen Lee offer up a different vibe with a party mix of garage and dance classics in the second room. Smart dress-code and they expect you to make a lot of effort.

I Velvet Rooms llpm-3pm. £8 (£4 before midnight). Weekly. DJ Stevie Smith in the main room with house, garage and club classics. John Lyons in the front room playing mellow hip hop, swingbeat and classic soul.
I World Service at Alaska. 11pm—3am. £8 (£6). 25 Sep and monthly. Diverse mix of dance style with Nick Peacock’s spread from Latin to house, Paul Cawley & Alex Horton on a deep hip hop vibe and Shu Hirata playingjazzy drum & bass.
I Yang at Yang. llpm—4am (bar open from 6pm). £5 (free before midnight). Weekly. Colin (the bloke from Dr J ives) and Ray play the bar room, room two sees Muchaill and Shu Hirata playing bountiful beats in a non-house style. In the back room there’s Nucleus, with Jim and Brian in the back room with electro funk and Deetroyt techno. 25 Sep, the Jengaheads guest with their phat nu school breaks and beats. 2 Oct, despite playing his farewell gig here not so long ago, the Soma recording artist Funk D’Void spins a few more tunes (not that we’re in any way complaining).

I Big Air Sundvays Air Organic. 8—11pm. Free. Apres/pre-club. Recovery session from the Jengaheads playing drum & bass, electro, nu school breaks and house.
I Big Love Summer Sundays at Club Budda. 11pm—3am. £5 (£3). Weekly. Geoff Montford and Chris Harris with a selection of big party tunes from the old classics to the new stormers.
I Bite at The Cathouse. 10.30pm—3am. £2 (£1.50); free before 11.30pm. Weekly. Indie/altemative night at this award- winning rock club.
I Bonafide Love at The Cross Bar. 8pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. Reggae, ragga and roots from DJ Dirtsman.

I Casino Royale at The Polo Lounge. 11pm—3am. £5. 26 Sep and monthly. Frankie Savaloy and Kirk St Moritz back with their delightfully tacky night, which they promise this month will have the ‘roof rack quotient upped to Dick Van Dyke levels’. 1 have no idea what this means either. Prize of limited edition bottle of Grecian 2000 to the best dressed man or woman. This may be a joke, but I think strongly it’s probably true.

I Divine Intervention at Brel. 8.30—llpm. Free. Weekly. Hush Puppy (Glasgow School Of Art) goes solo with a soulful Sabbath selection.
I Dribbler and Burd Called Ger at Yang (room one). 9pm-1am. Free. Weekly. Dribbler and Burd Called Ger playing funky super bass hip hop and house. Occasional one-offs with housey guests in room three. 3 Oct Yang hosts its own scratching competition for up-and- coming turntablists. Contact the club to enter.
