Dave Angel
The son of a jazz musician, Angel has always been fond of banging the odd drum, and his skills as one of Britain's finest techno 015 have not gone unrecognised. His remix of Eurythmics ’Sweet Dreams’ in 1989 launched his production career and led to a string of singles for such labels as Fnac and R86, as well as two albums on Island. After parting company with Island, he set up his own label Rotation which will see the release of his new solo
work.
Angel visits Scotland for the launch night of Reconstruction at The Vaults, a broad-reaching night which attempts to banish musical snobbery by booking techno, house and drum & bass guests. He brings his own brand of what he calls ’future jazz' techno that will undoubtedly be rapturously
received. (Mark Robertson)
