restored to its former glory in 1987. the park also contains the ruins of Cadzow Castle and extensive woodland walks. some through ancient native forest.
Coats Observatory

Built as the result of an endowment from a local philanthropist in 1880. the observatory now acts as the major seismic station for south west Scotland as well as filing daily weather reports to the Met Office. The telescopic equipment is still operational and the building houses a library of specialist books.
David Livingstone Centre

Glasgow Botanic Gardens

Glasgow Cathedral

A stone- built church has stood on this site since 1136 and the lower church contains the shrine of St Mungo. who died in 603; however most of the present building dates from the 13th or 15th centuries. the most notable exception being the stained- glass windows. renowned as one of the finest post-war collections in the country.
Glasgow Zoopark

Hunterian Art Gallery

Hunterian Museum

Dating frotn 1807. the Hunterian is Scotland's oldest public museum — it lost its artworks iii 1980 with the opening of the purpose-built art gallery in the grounds. but it is still home to a collection of the university's treasures. What is it? It’s two shows for the price of one beanfeast for those with a bot passion for crafts and hobbies. There are displays, supplies, demonstrations,
talks and workshops galore.
Two shows? Show one is Creative Stitches, which satisfies all your textile requirements. The centrepiece is a display of magnificent costumes and hats worn in the hit movie Titanic (above). For hands-on inspiration, try one of the 'Just A Taste' sessions where you can have a go at silk paper-making, patchwork, cross stitch, crochet and tiara-making.
And show two? Hobbycrafts is a Mecca for the devotee of embossing, glass painting and decoupage. Around 100 stands will represent over 30 crafts with supplies ranging from miniature modelling to teddy-bear making and craft paints for gilding, stenciiling and stamping.
Who are the experts? Myra Coles from The Sewing Machine Clinic; Pauline Turner, founder of the International Crochet Awards; Mary Day, who creates attractive scarves by dyeing them in the microwave.

philanthropic Hutcheson brothers in the 19th century. the hall has recently been completely refurbished to give a taste of its former glory. The site also includes a ten-minute audio-visual display about the Merchant City.
Mugdock Country Park

Scotland Street School Museum
