In Room ()ne. all the resident DJs who‘ve played the room over the last year have a shot. playing the top tunes from the last twelve months. With copious amounts of free drink. the night is bound to be pretty full-

Want something more than music on a night out? Live performance is spicing up the club scene.

Time was when all you could expect from a night clubbing was to drink a few beers, hear a few tunes, or even have a bit of a dance. However, enterprismg club organisers in Glasgow and Edinburgh have been shaking up this tried and tested formula of late, and live musicians, film prOJections and even tap dancing are now finding their way into Clubland.
Altered Beats Phase 2 is one of an eclectic menu of events on offer at Henry's Cellar Bar in Edinburgh. Cltib promoter Kulu takes a keen interest in provrding a platform for local performers, and recent initiatives have included drum 'n' bass DJ Ritchie Rufftone mixrng it up, accompanied by a live trumpet and double bass player. Kulu’s latest brainwave is to include tap dancer Nina Polli in the Tuesday night hip hop performances. The live element of the performance keeps the crowd engrossed and really refreshes the way you think about rhythms and beats. Says Nina, who trained wrth American tap legend Van the Man
