Burger Queen

Maybe it's escaped your notice, maybe you don't care, maybe you know already, but Craig & Huggy from Edinburgh's legendary glam house night Burger Queen are doing big business. They may just be ticking over quietly in Edinburgh, but on a national and international level, things are really starting to take off for them.

Craig, in particular, is shifting his sights from Scotland out towards Europe, America and the Far East. Having played every major English city in the last twelve months, he now has a residency in Canada, plus dates lined up all over the globe.

Huggy meanwhile, is increasing his profile in England, having guested at key nights like The Gallery in London, The Canal in Wolverhampton and Sugarshack in Middlesborough. He also has a residency in Vienna, plus dates lined up in Dallas, Houston and Florida. Stella Superstar, the third, sometime Burger Queen DJ is now resident at Speed Queen, Leeds, and has guested at The Cross in London.

Babushka Recordings, Burger Queen's label, is about to put out their seventh release, with another four ready to 90. One of their early signings Babe Instinct went on to be licensed by Positiva, while a forthcoming vocal project featuring Vivian Lee (which was signed by the boys at this year’s Miami Music Conference) has Top 40

written all over it. International licensing deals have been inked for Germany, Holland, Australia, Hong Kong and Russia. A Babushka compilation is planned for release in the autumn.

The icing on the cake however, is the fact that they have been invited to record a prestigious Essential Mix on Radio One. Craig & Huggy arc to provide Pete Tong with an exclusive two hour Burger Queen mix, to be
