Launched last September to replace Red Cell, Audio Psy-phi is Paul Cawley and Alex Horton's mission to bring hip hop. drum 'n' bass and funk t0 Glasgow's club scene. Since then, the club has steadily grown in popularity, pulling in large crowds and winning media acclaim.

Tony 0, Peter Parker, Adiaye and JerGrand, 1997 mixing champion Tony Vegas, and rappers Roots Munava and Harry Love are just some of the names who have
previously ripped shop at Audio Psy-phi.
Although Edinburgh boasts an impressive array of hip hop orientated nights, Audio Psy-phi is the only club that represent hip hop interests in Glasgow. Club organiser Paul Cawley, who ran Pharout at the Art School for three years, says he is aiming to build upon the enthusiasm of the handful of hip hop enthusiasts in Glasgow. 'With this club, we’re trying to build the foundations of a scene in Glasgow,‘ he says. We've been bringing really good guests up to try to inspire people to come along and check out what we’re d0ing.’
Cawley is also in charge of Phonetic, which is Soma’s new hip hop imprint. Phonetic will be launched in May or June with three 12in releases followed by a twelve-track sampler album to which all of Audio Psy-phi's previous guests will
contribute.
'All of the guests we've had so far are totally into what we're doing here,’ enthuses Cawley. ’They love the atmosphere in the club and the reception the
crowd gives them.’
