TABACHE Competitions are often seen as no good thing in traditional Circles, but the music of these two trophy bearers obviously hasn't suffered. National award winner Aidan O’ Rourke's deft, ener etically assertive fiddle style owes as much to his lrish background as is West Hi bland u bringing, while Newcastle's Claire Mann has twice taken the AI Ireland lute title. PADDY KEENAN An erratic genius is Paddy Keenan, the stuff of myth. The wild uillean piper with the masterly Bothy Band is a traveller, culturally and by inclination. Now resident(ish) in the US, he brings a hand-picked Irish team including barefoot maestro of the guitar Steve Cooney, and Four Men And A Dog’s astonishing fiddler, Cathal Hayden.
