BATTLE OF STIRLING BRIDGE 700TH ANNIVERSARY Various venues, info: 01786 401297. Until 9 Oct. This fortnight sees the William Wallace celebrations get into full swing as the spotlight falls firmly on Stirling. Among the main events are three shows by soon-to-be Donnie Munro- less Runrig (Thu 28—Sat 30), the William Wallace Fact and Fiction Conference (Fri 5 & Sat 6) in which speakers will balance the enduring myth against the man of flesh and blood and the Scot FM Braveheart Walk (Sun 7—Thu 11). In addition, there are regular events such as famil ceilidhs, art exhibitions and battle re-enactments. The celebrations reac their climax on 4 Oct with the BBC $50 The Spirit of Wallace concert at
the MacRobert Arts Centre.
