Veteran star Adam Faith plays the bigshot Broadway director casting for eight dancers to'complete the chorus of his new musical. Expect plenty of all-out song. dance and backstage bitching action as the hopefuls battle to the death for a place in the line in this fifteen-year- old classic that has graced both stage and screen.

Sneaking in before the Festival proper begins is the world premiere of this new play from acclaimed Scottish writer Mike Cullen (The Cut. The Collection). Directed by Vicky Featherstone (Paines Plough). it's a contentious psychological drama that explores the issue of false memory syndrome through the lives of three people with tough stories to tell. Exciting young Scottish writer David Harrower‘s witty. intelligent first play returns to the Traverse for a Fringe run. Set in a remote Scottish community. it tells of a young woman torn between the love of a man who holds her back. and another who wants to set her free. Part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Traverse Festival Season The Traverse Theatre's Festival season kicks off early on Thu 7 Aug. The programme features ' seven world premieres, including Anna Weiss by Scottish writer Mike Cullen, The Corridor — a new show by local company Benchtours — and the Irish cult hit Disco Pigs. David Harrower’s fine rural drama Knives in Hens is revived too, with extra previews on Sun 3 and Tue 5 Aug. These will be hot tickets in a couple of weeks, so get in there before the world’s bums occupy the Traverse's seats. Edinburgh: Traverse Theatre. Disco Plgs Thu 7—Sat 30 Aug. 9.45pm. £8 (£5). Cork-based company Corcadorca hit the Fringe with this wild. funny. anarchic chronicle of youth culture in contemporary lreland. After running away with the Dublin Theatre Festival Fringe 1996 award. the show is being dubbed an Irish Trainspotting. From the sounds of it. it lives tip to the hype.
