A celebration of all things electrical including displays on Scottish inventions and their creators. working demonstrations of the latest security and CCTV equipment and a presentation of the Internet. A year-long celebration to mark Renfrew‘s status as a Royal Burgh will see the good people of the town sharing many platforms with various artistes in celebration of their own talents. achievements and heritage. Among this fortnight's happenings are the Madhatter‘s Earthday Party (Mon 21). poetry from Douglas Dunn and jazz from the West End Quartet (Wed 23) and Doing Up ()ld .lunk (Wed 30) - an introduction to decorative painting techniques.

Battle of Stirling Bridge 700th Anniversary Various venues. info: 01786 401297. Until Oct 9. September sees the 7001h anniversary of William Wallace’s victory at Stirling Bridge. The series of events and exhibitions in and around Stirling will reach fever pitch on the actual anniversary date. 11 September. A mix of sport. colour. music. theatre. noise and fun will conclude with an outdoor spectacular and a stunning new exhibition exploring the legend of Wallace.
