This time it's the turn of a seal to keep the kids oohing and aahing. as the true story of Andre unfolds. Set during the early 60s in a small fishing town in Maine. the film has all the necessary elements — cute kid bonding with cute animal — and with a few adventure sequences in the plot that pirts this flippered hero in the Skippy/Champion/Rin Tin Tin class. I les Apprentis ( l5) (Pierre Salvador i. France. I995) Francois Cluzet. Guillaume Depaidieu. Judith Henri 98 mins. This contemporary French variation on the ll’it/r/iui/ A" / scenario finds two social misfits breaking into the workplace of one when they're evicted from their rent-free abode. I August (PG) (Anthony Ilopkins. l'K. I996) Anthony Ilopkins. Leslie Phillips. Kate Burton. S9 units. For his first visit behind the camera. Ilopkins takes (‘hekliov's Ullt'lt' l’unva to Wales. An eccentric family and equally odd friends weep. shout and feel sorry for themselves in a
large country house. absorbed with their unrequited romances and jealousies. The balance of tragedy and farce is disasteiorisly unsteady. the acting extremely self-indulgent. Fife: Adam Smith.

An orphaned pig falls under the eye of a kindly collie and begins to think he's destined for glory at the regional trials. Talking animals suggest that this is a kids' mm ie: to :in extent it is ~ and a great one but there's enough skewered humour (hail the psycho mice?) for adults to discover an unexpected cult hit. Mistaken identity abounds when Rogers heads to an Iinglish seaside resort in order to behave in a manner that will give grounds for her divorce.
