I have you niissed anything? Oh, cheeky cockney chappy and the busiest man in showbiz.

I liell, that’s a whole heap of lobs. lloW did he start? Early days are a bit hazy, but he ﬁrst emerged onto the scene with his ‘Page 67’ for BAAD Records and then quickly afterwards started DJing at his own club night ‘Fantasy’ at HQs in Camden in late 1987.

I That’ll be the tlnie nrhen house urns lust breaking on these shores no doubt? indeed, Mr C hooked up with the legendary Evil Eddie Richards and played all the seminal parties (Energy. Sunrise etc).

I So where do the Shuen come into it? Will Sin and Colin Angus met Mr_C in 1989 in London and invited him to work with them. He wrote the rap for ‘Move Any Mountain’ and did the ‘C Mix' on the single.

I lie stayed Involved in the underground though? in 1990 he helped set up London pirate station ‘Dance FM,’ and worked with radio mate Femi B as ‘Nu Generation’. He was also heavily involved in running underground parties, most notably ‘Release’ (now called Release The Pressure).

I What happened next After the tragic death of Will Sin, Mr C became a full time member of the Shamen in 1991.

I What about his label? Plink Plonk Records was set up late in 1992. The talents on the label were showcased at the ‘Drop’, ‘Cyclone’ and ‘Vapour Space’ nights.

I And the club? in December 1995 Mr C opened The End nightclub in London where he DJs every Friday night among other projects. He also hosts a regular show on London’s Kiss FM.

I The Sound Boutique Betty's Mayonnaise. 10.30pm-3am. £2. New night veiled in secrecy. For political reasons the five Scottish 01s who will be playing on four decks. have chosen not to be named. but go under the labels they record for: Umm. HiLife. Slate. Pulse8 and ZYX. The DJs are seeing the night as a chance to ‘play the music they want to hear' in a free form fashion.

I Sub Club The Subbie is one of the few venues chosen to take pan in Channel 4s ‘Techno Trip’, a weekend celebrating club culture.
