Shakespeare’s nail-biting courtroom drama. as played by the Arches Theatre Company in the suitably dark and cavernous surroundings of their underground performance space. Marabou Stork Nightmares Until Sat 23 Mar (not Sun/Mon). 7.30pm. £6 (£2). As 'I'rainspotting completes its triple media whammy - book. play and film — Irvine Welsh’s second novel Marahou Stork Nightmares takes to the stage courtesy of the Citizens’ company. Adapted and directed by Harry Gibson — whose stage version of Trainspotting is still pulling huge audiences — the play is a hectic ride through the comatose mind of ex-football casual Roy Strang. whose childhood memories of Muirhouse and fantasies of a surreal South Africa are battling to blank out an ugly secret. In The Bar Of A Tokyo Hotel Until Sat 23 Mar (not Sun/Mon). 7.30pm. £6 (£2). The Citizens‘ company — directed by designer Philip Prowse — with one of Tennessee (Streetcar Named Desire) Williams's later plays. This time. the classic Williams
woman-in-tense-situation has a rich American battling with her young teanvaway of an artist husband against the backdrop of a high-class hotel. See review.
The Human Voice Until Sat 23 Mar (not Sun/Mon). 7.30pm. £6 (£2). More high- intensity from the Citz company. with avant-garde 20s dramatist Jean Cocteati’s short. sharp. woman-on-phone-to-ex-Im'er play — translated by Anthony Wood. directed and designed by Kenny Miller. See review.

The collaborative event originates from a two- year residency with Scottish writer AI. Kennedy and has been developed by John Ferry. visual artist Charlie McGeever.
