Bursting out all over in a new show at Paisley Arts Centre, is this triendly little tella named Danny the Dinosaur. Danny is an lguanadon, and he’s joined by lriends the Naughty Gnomes, Harry and Carry, the Sleepy Sloth and the Nosy Postman in a show packed with puppets, actors, masks and music.

Proving the art of storytelling is far from a closed book is this 1995 Scottish International Storytelling Festival. with several weeks solid of tales for children and adults. Gather round at the right moment and you‘ll hear earth tales. traditional ballads and cross-cultural tales from Scotland and the Appalachian Mountains. Events take place at Netherbow Arts Centre unless otherwise stated. Highlights below. Storyhour Fri 3 Nov. 6.30pm. £2 (£1.50). This tea-time story slot runs nearly every day during the festival and is aimed at children and families. Today‘s story is read by Harry Holland.

This environmentally-friendly musical adventure is brought to you by Environmental Arts and tells the story 01 Scotland’s natural heritage from the last Ice Age up to the present day. It’s all very interactive, with children encouraged to produce illustrations, learn songs trom the show or write poems and prose pieces which then become part or the set. Booking is generally done through schools, but Thursday performances at each venue are open to the public.
