Ecologist and farmer, Neil Duncan, will explain the deer’s year, from early summer calving through to the autumn rutt. An Tairbeart is open daily until the end of October, loam—sunset. This is a must for all you good 01‘ guys and gals who fancy a day of top country and western stars and line dances. Besides the bands Brendan Quinn. Circuit Judge. Key West. Des Walters. Les Close and Charlie and the Moonshines there‘ll be plenty of trade stands to stock up on the six-guns and stetsons. a riot of colourful costumes and catering stalls. Presumably the latter will feature some earth-quaking bean dishes.

The exhibition describes the historical and cultural background. building and navigation techniques of the Vikings.

I CLASSIC CAR SHOW Sat 30/Sun 1. 10am—5pm. Royal Highland Centre. lngleston. £4.50 (accompanied kids under fourteen free). Free car park. The biggest under-cover show for classic cars in Scotland boasts bookings from over 60 owner‘s clubs and hundreds of individuals. The top draw is likely to be the Jaguar Drivers Club Ecosse which is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a display ofJaguars from the S and E types to the XK 150s. If you fancy showing off your own piece ofclassic [ire-1974 road- wear. there's free entry to anyone who wishes to exhibit their vehicle. There will also be plenty of autojumble and accessory stands. A classic vehicle auction takes place on Sunday at 3pm (viewing from 11am).

I DAWN GOOSE WATCH Sat 30 Sept. and weekly throughout Oct. 6—9am. Vane Farm RSPB Nature Reserve. Up to 20.000 pink-footed and greylag geese over-winter on Loch Levan. On a fine winter morning. the site of them taking off at sunrise is breath-taking.
