I Abba Night Big Fun Circus Tent. 7.30pm. £2. Now more in vogue than ever. the 70s supergroup owe a lot to the Australian film industry for making it nkur to like them again. Squeeze into that white one-piece and make your life as good as an Abba song.

I Trashcan Sinatras and The McClusltey Brothers Moulin Rottge Tent. 7.30pm. £5. Get two for the price of one in this double bill of pop (bands that is. not tickets). The Sinatras will be showcasing their third album while the ex-bluebells. who brought you that eternal summer song ‘Young at Heart‘. perform their usual medley of memorable melodies.
I Thrum Rive Gauche Tent. 7.30pm. £4. Teetering on the edge of the ‘ones to watch' platform. waiting to fall into the sea of world domination with their album Rfffl’nlllttl. Thrum list their influences as the Rolling Stones. The Beatles and The Sex Pistols — not much to live up to there then. eh'.’
I Under-18$ Happening Big t-‘un Circus Tent. 7pm. £2. Despite the lure of Radio Clyde DJ George Bowie and Chart Bite stars Ewan and Mari. fake spots and phoney attitude problems will get you nowhere. If you‘re over l8. you're not getting in.

I The Glasgow Show Glasgow Green. Free. Day One of this annual extravaganza. which attracts nearly 100.000 fun-seekers. This year's show has a medieval theme. so it's jousting a-go-go and plenty of silly costumes to look at. Saturday‘s events include a monster truck display. giant dragon. City of Glasgow Pipes. the battle of Glasgow Green and if you fancy a flutter there's camel racing. A children‘s village complete with circus is in residence throughout the weekend and

Jimmy Logan presents personal memories on film by such names as Gordon Jackson and Babs ‘Ma Mitchell‘ Windsor. I Soul Sisters Moulin Rouge Tent. 7.30pm. £5. So successful was this show last year. they‘re doing it all over again. A celebration of the wealth of female musical talent in Scotland. featuring the likes of Lorna Brooks. Gwen Stewart and the inimitable Horse. I lligel Clark nuintet Rive Gauche Tent. l 7.30pm. £4. Currently responsible for l some of the tnost exciting and inventive ' playing on the modem jazz scene. Clark‘s !
music combines a smooth blend of fusion grooves and Latin rhythms.
I Kenny Harris and Parrot Big Fun Circus Tent. 7.30pm. £2. Twice the fun with comedy from these Gilded Balloon favourites.

I The Glasgow Show Glasgow Green. Free. Pretty much the same line-up as yesterday but without the camels or DJs. Sky Dive Scotland will be soaring through the clouds to much oohing and aahing. and. of course. the usual food/drink/novelty stalls will be in evidence.
I Scottish Opera Moulin Rouge Tent. 2pm. £2. Not quite the full cast of The .llurriuee of'Ft'gttm. but one of the few chances you‘ll get to hear two of their finest voices for less than a liver. as Jane Marie O'Brien and David Munro perform some classic opera and musical numbers. I Tartan Amoebas and Zut! la Chute Moulin Rouge Tent. 7.30pm. £5. Two of Scotland's liveliest and tnost bizarrer named bands team tip for some nation— bonding Auld Alliance-type revelry to traditional and cajun music.
I The Amazing Mr Bones Rive Gauche Tent. lpm and 3pm. £l. Puppet antics with songs. games and — most importantly — custard pie throwing in The Adventures ()fPirtIre Pete.
I Too Loose la Trek Rive Gauche Tent. 7.30pm. £2. Directed by award-winning Irvine Allan and performed by the Fernan Street Players. this production was created specially for Glasgow Fair‘s French theme. and was devised from a historical study of the life of painter Toulouse Lautrec (in case you hadn't guessed).
I Cafe Babette Big Fun Circus Tent. 7.30pm. £2. An evening of decadence. Continental-style. at this cabaret nightclub with live music. comedy. dance. drag and ‘novelty' items.
