Edinburgh‘s premier Latin night: dizzying amounts of salsa. cumbia. merengue and rumba and a crowd who like to move it in style make it an essential date on any serious jazz/world/South American fan‘s calendar. I Club Sappho at Buster Browns. 9pm—4am. £3. Women only. Resident DJ Christine spins disco. chart. oldies and progressive dance with the occasional assistance of top guest names. Free glass of wine for those arriving before 10pm. I Evol at The Music Box. 10.30pm—3am. £3. Happy Hour 10.30—11.30pm. All new visuals and shiny. happy. indie sounds with a bit of a raw. grungy edge. Scotland‘s most furious and innovative hardbeat night continues to weld raw Chicago house. white noise and metallic techno into a coruscating aural assault every other Friday. Massive Bereavement control the underground electronic side. whilst Thee Process meld gentle dub ambient to chill to. Four sound systems. art installations. live MCs and percussion. As ever. don‘t miss the drummers! 30 June. British techno's finest: Dave Clarke returns to the club. Expect hard. underground Detroit and Chicago grooves and if you’re lucky a preview of Red 3 or some of his forthcoming album material.

Excellent guests. usually of a house/hard house persuasion. Return visits from George Morel and The Stickmen are forthcoming.
I Yip Yap at La Belle Angele. llpm—3am. £5. 1 July. Fortnightly. Spiritually uplifting house. depth- plumbing garage: you really have to visit this club to realise why it‘s still one of the best nights in the whole of Scotland. Divas. pianos. delicious. tuneful
highs. superlative mixing frotn Gareth and David and a crowd who know how to rock it! What more could you ask for?
