BBC Radio Scotland has a number of opportunities for Researchers and Production support staff based in Glasgow.

Entertainment Department produces a wide range of music based programmes including Mr Anderson’s Fine Tunes for BBC Radio Scotland, The Rock Show for Radio 1 and documentaries for Radio 2.
Researcher
As Researcher you will have broad ranging musical interests and will be expected to generate and develop ideas for programmes across the department’s output. The role requires a high level of organisation together with a clear understanding of the demands a small team faces when working to tight deadlines. You should be computer literate and confident in using technical equipment. Experience in broadcasting would be an advantage. Offered as a nine month contract. Salary c. $14,000 pa.
Production Secretary
You will provide administrative support to the production team across the Department ensuring paperwork is completed and entered on our computerised system. You will also arrange contracts for artists and keep track of invoices and budgets.
Whilst the main emphasis will be on paperwork and finance you will be expected to become involved in the team‘s work and tackle a wide range of administrative and organising duties.
You should have good typing and computer skills backed up by experience and be confident in dealing with figures.
Offered as a nine month contract. Salary c. 39,500 pa.

BB(‘ Radio Scotland’s Topical Weekend Programmes include TGIF and Off the Ball as well as a new leisure based programme currently being developed.
Research er
You should have wide-ranging interests in the the sport and leisure fields and an informed awareness of topical events and issues. You must be able to generate imaginative and entertaining ideas for the existing programmes as well as develop ideas for new features and programmes. You should have good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively to deadlines, you should also be confident in using computer and technical equipment. Previous experience in broadcasting would be an advantage. Offered as a nine month contract. Salary c. $14,000 pa.
Radio Production Assistant
The Radio Production Assistant provides support to the production team, both in handling all programme related paperwork and in organising and researching. You will also assist with live studio work, publicity, correspondence and will be responsible for inputting and tracking financial information using our computerised financial accounting system.
You should/have an interest in sport, leisure and topical events, excellent computer and organisational skills (demonstrated through experience) and confidence in dealing with contributors, the public and BBC staff at all levels.
Offered as a nine month contract. Salary c. $10,500 pa.
Casual Production Secre taries/ Radio Production Assistants
We have an increasing requirement for casual secretaries and Radio Production Assistants to meet temporary short-term assignments across our Glasgow production offices. Assignments will be offered on an ad hoc basis and may range from a few days to several weeks work.
You will require good administrative, financial and computer skills and should have an interest in Radio. You must be available at short notice and be able to work flexible hours. Previous experience in administrative work is essential and experience in a broadcasting environment would be an advantage. Training on our computerised accounting system will be provided.
