Country Park, Townhead Road, Coatbridge. 9am—4pm. Free. World class yachting: the most skiiful, the most exciting and the most costly. Just because they are radio- controlled models, don’t think these yachts are cheap. About £2500 is the asking price for one of these carbon fibre delights, which are up to seven feet in height and carry up to 500 square inches of sail. The higher the winds the better, as the yachts can cover 300 yards in under 90 seconds. The only reason racing will be cancelled
will be if wind speeds top 30mph.
