I Appearance Benny Hill meets Nicky Holloway — especially with their own omnipresent model entourage. I Legs and Co? Sort of — a bevvy of luscious lovelies was vital to the video for their new single ‘Don't Forget Who You Are’ which they’ve been running about Glasgow making in the last couple of weeks. The story line of the video seems to hinge on lots of close-ups of gyrating beauties in baby doll dresses. I Wow, deep stun Just hold it right there, they've got a serious side too. Last year’s moving elegy ‘Dr Peter‘ showed a radical change for the ‘big band of house’ showing their sensitive side for the first time. The track was a tribute to the strength and courage of Canadian physician Dr Peter Jepson-Young who filmed his last days. dying of AIDS. A quick scan over the (soon to be released) album track listing shows a darker more contemplative side to the acid house playboys who crafted the classic ‘Sycophantasy ’ and ‘Requiem‘. I So what’s the music sound like then? ‘Acid fu**ing house’ if you ask them. Sleek. sharp techno excursions with leanings towards a classical scene if you ask us. I What other influences have they got? Jim claims to be influenced by the music of Detroit and the writings of semiotic crusader Naom Chomsky. They describe the album as ‘their initial ten-point manifesto of swirling ambience and slow-mo beats’. I iieavy shit. Anything else we should know about thorn? Yeah. they were involved with remixing the Stereo MCs and Jean-Michel Jame I Bizarre Hey just look at the picture and tell me those guys are sane. I Fair point. gorgeous sweep through Detroit and Chicago at this. one of Scotland’s top techno institutions. Excellent guests from the electronic cutting edge. gifted residents and a sweaty. devoted crowd make this club still kick.
