llancy Sleekit and Howard’s Revenge Until Sat 25 Mar. 7.45pm. £6 (£4). Two Fringe First~winning plays brought together by Fifth Estate. Nanev Sleekit is a witty 19th century monologue by James Smith. about a woman and her series of husbands. rediscovered and adapted by Donald Campbell. Howard 's Revenge won Campbell a Fringe First ten years ago for its recreation of the life of the actor/manager J.B. Howard.
The 1995 Puppet and Animation Festival Sat 25 Mar—Sat 15 Apr. This annual puppet frenzy has now spread itself across the Central Belt. but still has a strong focus at its old Netherbow home. Continuing its role as champion for the art of puppet theatre. the festival is heralding itself this year as ‘notjust for the kids‘. Theatre Rotto‘s puppet/live action version of DH. Lawrence‘s Odour of Chrvsanthemtmrs is amongst several productions aimed at the adults.
