Fresh tucker for pampered bunnies.

I Flood, Pariah and Eurythromycin Cluny Church Centre. Morningside. 7.30pm. You're not going to believe this. but here goes. This is a charity gig for the church roof which is in danger of collapsing. Once the bands crank up. i suspect that the damge will be beyond repair but never mind. The publicity for literally bringing the roof down at a gig will be immensely valuable.

Despite being the oldest teenagers in town. the Poppies retain their vitality which nowadays is tempered with a bit of PC bile. but despite their collaborations with The Prodigy and Fun-Da-Mental. they remain intrinsically student fodder. Punky attitude lives on in Blaggers and Compulsion both exciting live acts.

Both bands have a layered mesmeric sound with a solid melodic base. The Kitchens have been at it for years and though that shouldn‘t prejudice the vote. it probably does anyway. New kids Drugstore have just released their ‘Starcrossed‘ single on Honey Records. Sound City

I Ac Acoustics, Shriek and Spacehopper Nice 'n‘ Sleazy. Sauchiehall Street. 333 9637. 8.30pm. The young. beautiful and trendy and possibly a couple of Radio 1 DJs will be out in force for this hip triple-bill of what's spitting and thrusting in skewed indie noise. Sound City
