I Pets Win Prizes (BBC I) 6.40—7.20pm. Danny Baker tries to keep a straight face in this preposterous excuse for a game show in which owners and pets compete to see who is the dumber animal.

The BBC marks 25 years since the Troubles as we know them began in Northern Ireland. with a series of programmes starting with a repeat of this controversial documentary which features in-depth interviews with leading para- militaries. sketchy. but the season also includes The Empire Laughs Back about Belfast humour; a Late Show Special looking at the way journalists have covered the Troubles. and Death on the Rock. the documentary on the Gibraltar shooting of three IRA members.
