Pilaflc for Pearle JI Glasgow Environment Action
Glasgow Environment Action aims to provide opportunities for unemployed adults in the Greater Glasgow area, while raising environmental issues and promoting community involvement in a variety of environmental projects. The project is funded through t e Employment Service's Community Action Scheme. We have the following two vacancies available, based in our Glasgow office.
Proiect Co-ordinator N/C Scale 5: £12,625 (subject to review)
We require someone to co-ordinate the project and to develop participant placements and links with environmental groups. An understanding of the needs of unemployed adults is required, as is supervision experience and a demonstrable commitment to environmental issues.
‘ Proiect Officer NJC Scale 5: £ 72,625 pro rata (2i hrs pw)
The Pro'ect Officer will assist the Project Coordinator in the running of GEA, with responsibility for its Community Design Group, producing a wide range of publications fo environmental groups. Previous desi n and DTP experience is required, as is an understanding of the needs of unempToyed adults and good administrative skills.

The Coordinator will be responsible for developing work in this field, undertaking publicity, preparing spon- sorship proposalsand liaisin with environmental organisations. Previous experience of co-ordinatin media-base campaigns, excellent project development skills and prior work in t e environmental sector is required. Based in our Glasgow office.

The Public Relations Ollicers play a key role in planning and implementing Wide ranging PR and publicity programmes tor council departments. Their responSibiEities include writing and editing printed material and dealing With media relations as part of broader publicity canpaigns.
A new strategy designed to improve Our etlectiveness Wlll mean that some at the more routine media relations tasks previously carried out by the diwsion will be devolved to nominated people in each council department. This will allow the Public Relations Division to piay a more strategic and adVlSOty role.
This new post will prowde the extra resources needed to prepare the organisation tor these changes. This will involve working With other public relations otiioers to piowde necessary trainan and other suppon tor stall in departments.
Candidates should have conSiderable experience at public relations, especially media relations and preferably in local government. An aptitude tor Halling or mamng presentations WOUld be an advantage.
