I Stella Chiweseshe Stepping Stones, Grassmarket. 8pm. £5 (£3). Accompanied by a percussionist, Chiweseshe performs and reworks the complex songs and rhythms of the Shona culture using the mbira, the small thumb piano with its unique intervals and amplified by a gourd. Stella is a major recording star and composer at home in Zimbabwe and is energetic in her efforts to promote women in the male-dominated music industry.
