Perlonned Beading: Spinning into Blue Tue 1 Feb. 7.30pm. Free. As a way of drawing attention to recent plays that have enjoyed productions elsewhere. the Traverse has introduced a series of performed readings that take place on the first Tuesday of each month. This play by the American writer Sally Nemeth is set in the Deep South where the mistress of a country estate is betrayed by her brother and her own childlessness.

Under Mlllt Vlood Wed 9-13 Feb. 7.30pm. £7 (£3.50). Guy Masterson performs a one-man rendition of the Dylan Thomas poem of Welsh village life. It's directed by George Dillon who knows more about one-man shows than most. having performed several himself.

The Cllt Strong new play by ex-miner Mike Cullen is revived for a second tour by the energetic Wiseguise Productions. A hard look at the cynicism that set in during the 1980s and corrupted the once brotherly solidarity of mineworkers. Cullen’s is a fresh political voice that deserves to be heard.
