I The Day Today (BBCZ) 9—9.30pm. Radio hit ()n The Hour reaches the TV screen with the same closely-observed satire of news programmes. Steve Coogan does his bit as Alan Partridge. and the team includes Armando lanucci. Chris Morris. Doon Mackichen and Patrick Marber.
I Clive James: Postcard From New Your (BBC 1) 9.30—l().20pm. The verbose Aussie bites into the Big Apple and seeks out the lowlife of New York. accompanied by a personal police protection of course. I Middlemarch (BBCZ) 9.30-10.30pm. The second episode of the six-part adaptation of the classic George Eliot novel. The new doctor Tertius Lydgate (Douglas Hodge) is called in to treat Fred (Jonathan Firth) who has contracted typhoid fever. Andrew Davies has adapted the book for television.
