It‘s the piping equivalent of Come Dancing. with the ten invited individual pipers going through their paces for the Glenfiddich trophy. They’ll be doing a mix of ‘light’ music: Marches. Strathspeys and Reels. and the classical piobaireachd. Besides the overall champion. there will be prizes in each category. Limited seating. so arrive early. Although the castle isn‘t open, the tea shop is and so are the grounds. so if the drone gets too much you can get a breath of fresh air.

A glassblower from Castle Douglas will be making Viking style drinking vessels and a Dumbarton based couple selling their ‘fashionable but protective' raincoats.

A four- mile fun for women of all ages. organised as part of the Strathclyde Regional Council’s Social Strategy Initiative. setting off from the Watersports Centre at lpm. The run is intended to be a curtain- raiser for a regular series of events and activities which will encourage participation from women in running. jogging and the wide range of sports facilities which the Park has to offer. There are various prizes to be won besides the usual first past the post. from best in age group and best Mother and Daughter Team to best fancy dress. The number and level at which subsequent fitness and training orientated sessions operate will depend on the people taking part in the run.
