Hunter Square. 220 1550. 9pm. £3 (£2). 1 was a bit sceptical the first time this full-size big band were due to squeeze themselves into this venue. but the results were spectacular. with a comfortable level of volume. an excellent balance of sound. and an immediacy that would be hard to find in any ‘normal‘ big band context. An experience not to be missed. and the band have some fine soloists to adorn their imaginative arrangements.
