I Shag at Fury Murry’s. lOpm—2am. £4 (£2 before 1 1pm). The ultimate crap student night. the one which lowers the standards to which all others must stoop . . . and it's still unfeasibly popular!

I Soundclash Republic at The 13th Note. 8pm-midnight. Free. The ‘Republic’ has been flying its flag for a while now and attracting a good crowd every week; meanwhile. other ‘ambient’ clubs seem to be sprouting up as quickly as mushrooms after rain . . .

I Boudoir at The 13th Note (downstairs). 8pm-midnight. Free. Easy music with a twist: from Liberace to surrealist organ samplers. this is a superb hiatus from the norm. Your hosts for the evening: E. J. (that’s ‘Easy Jock‘ )lan and Dr Paul.

I Candy Cool at Fury Murry’s. 10.30pm—2am. £2 (£1). Wed 15 Sept only. No admission after'midnight. A night of alternative indie sounds playing the likes of Belly. Sonic Youth and Porno For Pyros.
I Chopper at Club Xchange. 10.30pm—3am. £3 (£2). Garage. house. rap. funk. disco. pop. cheap booze. sweaty students and sexy DJs: what more could you desire?
