The Initiative is Urban Aid funded to provide a comprehensive service for drug users, their families and other relevant agencies in the East and of Glasgow. We wish to appoint a

plus 7.5% Irregular Hours Allowance This is a re-advertisement. The main duties of this post are to promote and develop the initiative's services. The successful candidate will be required to direct and work with existing staff in the provision of the Training and Community Development Services offered by the Initiative. Previous experience of drugs work and/or a recognised qualification e.g. COSW, DSW, Youth and Community, Teaching, or Nursing qualification is preferable, though not essential for this demanding post. ADMIN WORKER (Part time 21 hours)

To operate our financial systems, provide secretarial and core admin support You will have a minimum of two years admin experience, ideally in an arts or voluntary organisation.
PROJECT ASSISTANT (Part time 15 hours)

To provide admin support to tapeslide production and training projects. You will have had a minimum of two years experience on the organisational/admin side of arts or media projects, in a community setting.

ARTS OUTREACH OFFICER
SALARY £11,454 - £14,106
The Arts Outreach Team work with groups in the community to encourage involvement in the arts - initiating, assisting programming and promoting events. We are looking for a new team member to be responsible for a geographical area but with a particular remit to work city wide with ethnic groups. You must therefore be able to establish and maintain links with ethnic communities in Edinburgh.
A broad knowledge and previous experience of working with community groups in the arts is required to enable you to work accross the art forms.
You will require well developed administrative/organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, to work without direct supervision, to implement policies and procedures and to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. A knowledge of budgeting/financial control and the issues affecting community Arts Organisations is also required.
A current driving licence and a knowledge of arts funding and local government issues is also desirable.
Minority ethnic groups are under-represented in the Council's workforce, accordingly applications from people in these groups are particularly welcomed.
