The ambitiously-staged (by i Timothy James Copsey) work involves fourteen TV monitors. :1 twelve-voice choir. strings. brass. woodwind. percussion. a church organ. pro-recorded tape. projected films. a split stage and a tower which will be raised and lowered during the performance.

Jane Eaglen is marvellous in the title role and director lan Judge is quite masterly while ever sensitive to the music in this new production.
