Antigone Until Sat 27 Mar. 8pm. £5 (£3). lain Reekie directs 7:84 in Sophocles‘s tragedy about a daughter who insists on burying her brother against the wishes of the king. The version used is a translation by Don Taylor which was first performed by the BBC in 1986. Po-faccd rather than grand. the production nonetheless tells the tragic tale with some power.

The latest production in the Traverse's unusually busy spring season is the British premiere of American playwright Elizabeth Egloft"s poetic modem-day fairytale. Directed by Les Waters. the play is about a woman who takes in an injured swan only to watch it turn into a man. Exploring dark feelings of love and sex. the play also has an air of comic surrealism.
