A powerful and imaginative bop to modern player. he made a highly favourable impression when he visited Edinburgh as a member of Bill Kyle‘s New York Jazz last year. and now returns for what should be a steaming gig at the Tron. and cheap into the bargain. Kyle is on drums. with Gordon Cruickshank on saxophone. Chick Lyall on piano. and Ronnie Rae on bass. lf Ponomarev is selling his excellent Profile CD at the gig. you could do worse than invest in a copy.
